12,000 Sq. Ft. Second Floor Addition above the 1963 Replica of the 1764 Brick Fort Pitt built by British Military Engineers

Renovations to the interior of the 1963 structure

The use of copper for the shingles and trim provides a patina of age as well as a long life for the roof of this building

The interior of the space is state-of-the-art in flexible museum design

A controlled humidification/dehumidification system complements the gas fired radiant in-floor heating system and the modular electric air-conditioning system

Protection from the possibility of vehicle damage from the Fort Pitt Bridge approaches

The subtle curve of the rear wall creates an interesting visual complexity in the plaza area

The curving ceiling is reminiscent of the flow of the Three Rivers

The location of the columns is a free expression of structure

The view from the new window wall simulates what a soldier would have seen in 1764

Stepping of the brick wall echoes the city skyline and the subtle change of the new brick coursing does not conflict with the 1963 structure
