Chief Executive Officer
As the Chief Executive Officer at Nello, Gino is responsible for the overall direction and operations of Nello Construction. Gino is directly responsible for financial oversight, executive project management, bonding, and contracts. He serves the firm’s valued clients to ensure projects meet their expectations.
As President, Jake oversees all aspects of Nello’s construction operations, including hands-on management of all Nello’s projects. He also oversees and manages all aspects of Nello’s estimating, purchasing, project start up, high- level project oversight, project closeout, company oversight, and pre-construction services.
Executive Vice President
As the Executive Vice President - General Counsel of Nello Construction, Dean manages the day-to-day legal affairs of Nello, and oversees administrative, risk management, business development, and human resource matters. Dean has been named Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for five years in a row, and he has advised contractors and corporations on legal matters for over a decade. He enjoys analyzing and solving problems to help Nello better service its customers. Dean is a licensed General Contractor in West Virginia and a licensed attorney in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio.
Senior Project Advisor -
George has spent his entire career in the construction industry, and for over 2 decades, he served as Nello’s President – guiding Nello through years of growth and productivity. As Senior Project Advisor, George now uses his years of success and experience to advise Nello on all areas of project completion and customer service.
Mali has been a practicing architect for 16 years. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech and upon graduation she moved to Pittsburgh. She then received her license in 2011 and started Luca Construction and Design soon after. Mali loves the integration of design and construction and loves each phase of the process. She heads to the construction sites on a regular basis. Periodically throughout her career she has worked as a construction project manager. Last year, Mali earned her certification as a Passive House Designer and looks forward to accomplishing Passive House Design in the Pittsburgh area.
As a Project Manager at Nello Construction, some of Jim’s responsibilities include: site design analysis, permitting, scheduling, developing technical scopes of work, construction management, oversight and direction of project staff, technical staff, consultants, production employees, contract construction forces, administration of public and private bid coordination, cost estimating systems, material estimating systems, purchasing and procurement, labor relations, client relations, change order management, inspection, invoicing and payment allocation, and coordination and collaboration in project development, design, and engineering. Jim has been with Nello for 9 years as of 2019 and has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown’s School of Engineering.
As Project Manager at Nello, Zak works with multiple contracts while assisting with estimating when called upon. He started in the construction industry at a young age with his father and now has experience managing a variety of projects and circumstances. His advice for someone who wants to join our team is to stay grounded and keep focused on the task at hand. Zak says that seeing the owner/clients’ reaction to the final product is the most rewarding part of his job.
As Project Manager at Nello, Jason works on large contracts. Construction is a family business for Jason and he started in the residential construction arena after college. In 2008, Nello gave him the opportunity to expand into the commercial construction field. One of the best pieces of advice that he has ever been given is that the secret to success is waking up early.
Don Brown has proven to be successful at providing organized and detailed construction estimates for higher education, retail, office fit-outs, new construction, financial institutions, and industrial facilities in an organized and timely manner. A few of his strengths include being flexible and seeing a project from estimation to completion while being on schedule and under budget. He has significant experience maintaining project flow sheets, keeping track of project costs, and change management on projects ranging from $10K to $10M.
Director of Business Development
As our Director of Business Development, Terry is one of the faces of the Nello brand. He can be found at networking events, meeting with potential clients at one of the local lunch spots, and working directly with clients to help their vision become a reality. He is inspired daily knowing that he has the ability, through Nello, to make someone’s dream, vision, and idea a reality.
As Nello’s Marketing Coordinator, Jordyn is responsible for content creation, event planning, social media, business development and everything in between. Jordyn has worked in a marketing role in the technology, real estate, start up development, and local economic research fields. She says, “The most inspiring part of the marketing role at Nello Construction is being able to see a project come from a simple idea to the final product.”
As the Controller at Nello, Stephanie is responsible for taking care of day-to-day accounting tasks. When she first started at Nello in 2012, she was hired as a Contract Administrator. She is grateful for the opportunity Nello has given her to grow and advance her career. One of her personal goals is to visit Scotland, experience the culture and see all of the beautiful architecture. In the warmer months, you may find her on the golf course with her golf league.
Leah’s role at Nello as our Contract Administrator includes processing purchase orders, accounting tasks, handling contracts, and other daily administrative tasks. When asked what advice she could give to a candidate who wants to join our team, she said “It’s a great company to work for. If you put hard work into your position, you will be appreciated!” Outside of work, Leah loves spending time outdoors and with her family, especially her son and husband.
As Operations Administrator, Catherine works closely with all Project Managers to ensure all project submittals are handled properly and are submitted on time. She frequently corresponds with all subcontractors on the basis of submittals, RFIs, and assists with estimating on new projects. Prior to her experience in the construction industry, Catherine graduated from the U.S. Army as a 74 Delta (Chemical Specialist), which taught her the values that she implements in her work today.
As a Contract Administrator at Nello, Lizzie is responsible for executing subcontracts and purchase orders, processing the certified payrolls for all of the public school jobs, internal and external correspondence, helping others by completing administrative tasks throughout the day, and placing orders for office needs. She takes pride in working for a company that assists non-profit organizations, churches, and schools to achieve their vision through the construction process.
